United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) Senior Advisor Barry Rosen recently undertook a five-day hunger strike to protest the Iranian regime’s cruel practice of hostage taking. In support of that #FreeTheHostages campaign, UANI is calling on the negotiators from the P5+1 to collectively demand Tehran release all two-dozen foreign and dual-national hostages held within its borders and commit to the end of the reprehensible practice of hostage-taking as a precondition to any deals over Iran’s nuclear program and economic sanctions.
Iran’s unlawful, and inhumane practice of hostage-taking has endured for over 40 years. Hostages suffer significant mental, emotional, and physical trauma. The regime cruelly uses hostages for political and negotiation leverage in its dealings with other nations. As long as Iran continues this heinous practice and fails to release its hostages there should be no agreement and no lifting of sanctions.
Help us demand action from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Russia, China, and the European Union to #FreeTheHostages. Please sign the petition and join the UANI community in holding Iran accountable.
