UANI Applauds Trump Administration's New Sanctions on Iran Following Ballistic Missile Launch

New York, NY - In response to today's announcement of additional U.S. sanctions against Iranian entities, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) on Friday released the following statement:

"We commend the Trump Administration for taking swift action against the Iranian regime following its latest ballistic missile tests this past Sunday. The new designations are a step in the right direction, and we encourage the Trump administration to support pending legislation on Capitol Hill mandating new sanctions against entities owned 25 percent or greater or controlled by Iran's key ballistic missile organizations," said UANI CEO Ambassador Mark D. Wallace.

"Since the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Iran has continued to show aggressive, dangerous, and confrontational behavior - all of which has put Americans, businesses that are investing in Tehran, and the global community at risk. Today's sanction-designations demonstrate this kind of behavior will not be tolerated," added Wallace.

"Iran's repeated defiance of United Nations Resolution 2231 is yet another example of its ongoing international duplicity.  It is time to increase the costs for Tehran's intransigence, and I am encouraged by the Trump Administration's swift and strong  reaction to this latest test," said UANI Chairman and former U.S. Senator Joseph I. Lieberman.
