Amy Westbrook is Co-Director of the Business and Transactional Law Center and Associate Professor at Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. She previously taught at the University at Buffalo Law School, State University of New York, where she was Director of the New York City Program in International Finance and Law.
Professor Westbrook’s scholarship focuses on the intersection of financial regulation and international issues, particularly security issues. Her current research and publications concern the application of the disclosure requirements of the U.S. securities laws to companies doing business in Iran and other states designated as sponsors of terrorism. She also conducts research on the enforcement of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the regulation of international business transactions.
Prior to entering academe, Professor Westbrook practiced at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen and Hamilton in Washington, D.C., where her work included project finance, joint venture and other cross-border transactions, as well as providing advice with respect to U.S. sanctions programs.
A native of Miami, Florida, she is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
