UANI Data Shows Increased Attacks on U.S. Interests Since October 7, and Highlights Value of Deterrence

(New York, NY) –United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) today released a new resource that documents the increases in attacks on the U.S. and its allies, by Iran and its proxies and partners, since the Hamas massacre in Israel on October 7.

Using a range of weapons of war including ballistic missiles, rockets, and drones, the unrelenting attacks are having a ruinous impact on life and security across the region. It is telling that Iran has overseen 451 attacks while there have only been 88 U.S. responses to date. The U.S. has failed to keep up with the pace, number, and scale of provocations by Iran and its proxies. These American reprisals have also been aimed not at Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) assets in Iran but on its expendable regional proxies which does not act as an overall deterrent.

Limited kinetic acts of deterrence—such as the destruction of radar sites and facilities housing drones—by the U.S. are necessary but not sufficient. The U.S. and its allies must undertake military strikes on IRGC assets on Iranian soil to truly restore deterrence.

As conflict in the region grows, the U.S. must act more decisively to counter Iranian-led aggression in the Middle East. With this new resource, UANI has demonstrated the need for a more assertive deterrence strategy.
