Khazali, Ensieh
Vice president for women's affairs (2021–present).1
Member of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, an extremist-dominated government policy-making body that developed stricter regulations in 2019 for mandatory hijab wearing. Appointed by the supreme leader. Headed by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who has spearheaded increased enforcement of hijab laws and regulations, including by the "Morality Police."2
"Iran's vice president for women and family affairs, Ensieh Khazali, has been a vocal supporter of intensifying online censorship and clamping down on the use of virtual private networks (VPNs). But Khazali has attracted criticism after it was revealed that her son emigrated to Canada and created a company that sells VPNs."3
Khazali opposes restrictions on child marriage.4
