Infamous tanker Young Yong transfers cargo to Iranian VLCC

THE INFAMOUS very large crude carrier Young Yong (IMO:9194127) has began a ship-to-ship transfer with Iran-flagged VLCC Diona (IMO:9569695). The 2001-built Young Yong is suspected to be laden with Venezuelan crude, according to data from monitoring group United Against Nuclear Iran, who first reported the transfer. Lloyd’s List Intelligence data shows Young Yong entering the STS transfer with a draught of 19.9 metres, while the Diona’s was 12.2 metres. The ageing tanker remains at anchorage in Nipah Island, Indonesia, according to Tanjung Balai Karimun port authority head Jon Kenedi.
