Investigations underway amid allegations of illicit Iranian oil transfer

…US advocacy group United Against Nuclear Iran has detailed evidence showing the 158,547 dwt tanker Suez Rajan  (IMO: 9524475) engaged in a ship-to-ship transfer of oil with the 305,796 dwt Virgo (IMO: 9236250) off the Malaysian coast last weekend. According to satellite imagery analysed by UANI and seen by Lloyd’s List, the Panama-flagged Virgo was carrying Iranian crude, loaded at Kharg island off Iran on January 17. Lloyd’s List Intelligence data shows both vessels in the vicinity of the alleged STS, however neither vessel was transmitting Automatic Identification System signals at the time.
