Iran trading fleet grows by 100 ships as oil exports reach highest level since sanctions reimposed
Lloyd's List
"According to figures from New York-based pressure group United Against Nuclear Iran, Tehran exported over 530m barrels of oil last year, a 27% increase from 2022.
The record exports were fuelled by a recovering Chinese appetite and fly in the face of US sanctions levied to stop the flow of Iranian oil but that appear loosely enforced.
China’s intake of Iranian barrels increased 41.4% year on year, according to UANI, and the Middle Kingdom was the destination for about 82% of Iran’s exports last year, an increase from 74.5% from 2022."
